tumours:A man whose body and face are covered in swollen lumps has revealed how he hides away in his home because his appearance scares people in public.

Sudjai, from Bangkran in Thailand, was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis – a rare skin condition that causes bubble-like tumours to form all over him.

The 69-year-old man had lived a healthy childhood life until the age of 10 when hundreds of bumps started to develop on his body.

Nearly six decades on, the father-of-two has been ravaged by tumours – and the swelling around his face has become so severe, he has struggled to open his eyes.

He said his family were unable to afford medical treatment when the bumps started to form – as his condition has since progressively got worse as

‘When these lumps started to appear, we were so poor, we couldn’t afford to seek treatment,’ he said.

‘Now they are so bad that I don’t like to go out as my appearance scares people, especially children.’

Despite the difference sized lumps, the growths and swellings are not cancerous.

Doctor Jhinda, who has been treating Sudjai said: ‘Sometimes these are not so serious and patients can live pretty normal lives.

‘However, in this case the tumours are beginning to close his eyes and, anyway, they prevent normal sleep patterns as they are so uncomfortable,’ he added.

Despite his condition, Sudjai went on to start a family of his own.

Unfortunately, his daughter, 36, has started to show signs of the rare condition.

Meanwhile his son, a labourer worker, is the sole income source for the family.

The father has taken to social media to make a desperate plea for help in getting treatment for his daughter before her condition deteriorates.
